FREMANTLE UNVEILS BRAND NEW ENTERTAINMENT FORMATS FOR LONDON SCREENINGS

Fremantle Unveils Brand New Entertainment Formats for London Screenings
Fremantle unveils its line-up of original feel-good entertainment programming coming to this year’s London Screenings, including: The Second Chance Ex-periment, The Big Celebrity Detox, The Beatbox and DNA Singers. Fremantle’s catalogue of entertainment shows is one of the largest in the world and these latest additions will join global hit franchises including Got Talent, Idol, The X Factor, Farmer Wants a Wife, The Price is Right and Family Feud.

In The Second Chance Ex-periment from Fremantle Portugal, divorced or separated couples are reunited and given a chance to repair their broken relationships. The ex-couples move in together for seven weeks and take on personalised challenges, carefully designed by therapists to help them overcome their issues. At the end of each week, the couples are asked during a symbolic ring ceremony if they would like to continue the experiment or go home alone.

In the spirit of all things wellbeing, The Big Celebrity Detox sees eight celebrities travel to a wellness resort, to help them cleanse their bodies and change their lives for the better. Under the guidance of a spiritual guide and other treatment experts, the celebrities will undergo some of the most outlandish detox treatments in the world. Each week, they will take on three treatments based on a specific emotion, and the celebrity who commits to the experience the most is rewarded. The Big Celebrity Detox is produced by Thames, a Fremantle label, for E4 in the UK.

Musical gameshow The Beatbox is the ultimate play-along format where two celebrity teams compete by recreating iconic songs with nothing more than household objects. Building up to the show-stopping performances are interactive musical games to collect the most household items. The Beatbox is co-developed by Something Special and Blue Circle, a Fremantle company and Naked, a Fremantle label.

DNA Singers
is a new hit for the Netherlands, after a successful launch in Korea last year. In this family-friendly guessing game contestants who possess a talent for singing and also share DNA with a celebrity singer, take to the stage to perform in front of a panel of judges. The judges then have to guess which celebrities the singers are genetically related to. DNA Singers was created by FormatEast and Kyung Hwangbo and has been adapted by Blue Circle, a Fremantle company, for the Netherlands.

Andrew Llinares, Director of Global Entertainment at Fremantle said: “These new formats are a great example of how Fremantle champions strong and creative concepts that really connect with global audiences. Creativity is at the heart of what we do and I’m so proud to share a snippet of our brilliant formats including the likes of The Second Chance Ex-periment where viewers can expect to watch compelling and relatable stories about reunited couples; or have their eyes opened in an unexpectedly punchy and emotional show like The Big Celebrity Detox. The Beatbox will have everyone at home tapping mugs and opening and closing doors to make their own music. Whilst DNA Singers asks if talent really does run in the family and will have viewers guessing along with the judges. There really is something for everyone.”
